After some false starts, the Nikkei appeared to be recovering but the Asian currency crisis and the fall of the Japanese banking industry curtailed that advance. The market appears to have stabilized, and the nation's economy is healthier as well. The paper recommends that investors still use caution, however. Foreign funds are pouring into Tokyo, but locals have been selling for months. There may be further corrections in the market, but it is seen to be on a path of overall growth.
